About the author

Joy Makumbe is a qualified Civil, Water, and Sanitation Engineer, with over 18 years of experience in the field. She has successfully led project teams in Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

She is also the founder of Majorlic Construction (Pvt) Ltd, a construction company registered in Zimbabwe.

Joy is a seasoned lecturer. She has lectured in the Civil Engineering Departments of the University of Zimbabwe and the Harare Polytechnic College.

Her vision is to see more women in Africa take up positions of impact and influence in the Engineering and Science fields.

Joy is a mother to an eighteen-year-old daughter whom she has tried to raise in a manner in which societal webs spun around her would not entangle her and render her motionless and frustrated.
